HP Pavilion DV6910 review Dec 03, 2008
By John H. Gindlesberger After looking around, I decided that this computer offered a lot of bang for my buck. Shipping was very quick and communication was excellent from the Amazon supplier. The computer arrived unscathed via UPS.
It offers a lot of features that I wanted, e.g. fast processor, large hard drive, built in camera. It also has finger print ID--a feature I wasn't convinced I needed. It is an interesting accessory, however, providing quick start up.
After having the computer about a month, I'd say it fits my needs well. The only downside is a HUGE battery. I was not expecting something this large. When installed, it creates a large "bump" on the bottom of the computer. I hope it redeems itself in long, unconnected operating times. It does significantly add to the weight of the computer.
UPDATE: I had an issue with the battery and a pop up error message. The computer would not function using the battery and I had a message that there was low disk space on the D portion of the harddrive. After several hours with HP technician--4 of them--they agreed to having me send it back for repair. I just got it back--quick turn around time--but ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE service. The computer was returned with a form saying that HP did not service this computer!!! I should have bought the Mac!! This is the last HP product I'll buy!!

Not very good. Dec 17, 2008

My wife bought this laptop the same time I bought my ACER Extensa laptop. After a month, her laptop is glitchy, buggy and slow. No matter what we try (formatting the disk), reinstalling the OS, virus scans, memory scans/cleans the only thing we can see is the hardware is cheep and lousy. HP service was no help either. This is probally one of the things HP adopted from their new "Compaq" partners who make the worst computers known to mankind and suffer from random computer strokes or other computer death releated problems. The ACER Extensa laptop is flawless and the same price as this machine except in the ACER for this price you get 4gb ram, 350 gb HD and an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. We have traded this bugged laptop in for another ACER EXtensa. So much happier.

Piece of junk Oct 21, 2010
By Shannon L. Boulet Don't waste your money. I bought the 2008 version of this laptop and barely got 2 years out of it. It now won't boot up, it acts like it's going to come on for 1/2 a second, dies, and then starts the cycle again 5 seconds later. Started having problems about 3 mos prior. Researched the issue and learned that the Pavilion is notorious for motherboard problems. There should be a class action lawsuit to make HP stand behind their product instead of knowingly putting defective machines into the marketplace. Never HP again.
