OK For a Mac Sep 06, 2010 I got this mouse and keyboard to use with an extra monitor at work. The software to use them on a Mac isn't provided in the box you must go to logitechs site and download it which is a bit of a pain. Other than that it works pretty much as advertised, though there are occasions where the keyboard seems a little sluggish I might type out a few words and have to wait for the keyboard to catch up. Also it would be nice if the software that logitech provides gave you some more customization options. Overall though this accomplishes what I need it to, but it doesn't do anything else beyond that.
AWESOME Sep 05, 2010 I absolutely LOVE this new keyboard & mouse! My old cordless mouse 'died' and I was getting real frustrated dealing with a mouse with a cord. First cordless keyboard & had. They are both easy to install and easy to use. I was a bit worried about trying this new keyboard since I was used to a split keyboard, but it's wonderful.
Great! And don't buy this,,, Sep 02, 2010 1st, I love this kit.
2nd. Amazon suggest the MK550 (if I got that right) is newer for about <@ this moment> $15. more. Do that...
Either edition, I think you will be happy with the feel if you give it a week. I have pressed keys since the manual Underwood typewriter (and others).
At first touch, it took me a bit to adjust to the equal nature of the finger reach... I settled in after a bit and find my WPM and accuracy are up.
The mouse works with both hands and is comfortable and accurate as any mouse I have tried and only like the Apple Magic Pad better than this (and that isn't a mouse).
I suggest the newer model for 2 reasons:
1) Battery life has gone from months to years.
2) Unified Logitech 2.4 Ghtz USB port will probably take future Logitech components.
However once again, from a "feel" and construction standpoint, you won't go wrong with either selection.
I'm very happy both Mac OSX 10.6 and Win 7 with Command/Win and Alt/Option interchange
I'm happy but I wish the range was greater. Aug 31, 2010 Overall, I'm happy with it. The setup was very easy. I was up and running in no time. I'm trying to use it where the keyboard & mouse are 6-8 ft from the computer. While the keyboard has no problems with this range, the mouse does not work at that distance. If you're using the keyboard & mouse just on top of a desk with the computer on top or under the desk, you would have no problem at all.
In my situation, I bought the set so that I could hook my laptop to the flat screen TV and sit back on the sofa with the keyboard & mouse. I'm finding that I need to pull the laptop stand out into the middle of the room to bring it closer to me so that the mouse will work. The mouse is very sensitive to it's range limit. It works fine until about 6 ft. But once you move beyond that line, it goes completely dead. I can get by with moving the laptop to the middle of the room, but I bought this set so that I could push it against the wall and out of the way. I'm trying to avoid someone (or the dog) knocking over the laptop.
Otherwise, I like the layout and the feel of the keyboard. The tactile response of the keys appeals to me. They don't click or make make noise. It's more of a soft, springy feel. The mouse is comfortable enough in my hand. I notice that the mouse has an on/off button but the keyboard does not. I'm unclear how the battery will be affected if I adccidentally leave the mouse power on. I try to remember to turn it off.
Solid keyboard, very comfortable Aug 27, 2010 I'm using this keyboard for my day job as a programmer. Prior to this keyboard I was using the Microsoft Natural 4000 keyboard. After that keyboard died on me. I decided to give this one a whirl. It took a day or so to get use to after using a split ergo keyboard, but I've found this one to be very comfortable. The keys are quite but responsive. Since I don't have really big hands this keyboard feels a bit better for me. I don't really use any of the "extra" keys besides the volume buttons. The home keys are mangled but I've gotten used to them.
Wireless performance seems good I haven't had any issues with it. Setup / install was easy. I didn't bother with the CD that came with it, just downloaded the latest version from the website. All in all solid keyboard, very comfortable.
The wireless mouse that comes with is fantastic. Good size and very comfortable. I use it without a mousepad on a wood desk.
