Great Speakers Jan 05, 2006
By Michael Simpson

I was very disapointed by te sound of the built in speakers of my new Gateway computer so I started doing some research.
I wanted a USB powered soulution but was not sure about USB for the driving the speakers. I saw the V20s at a local store for over $80 but decided to pick them up.
I cant belive how easy they were to install. Just plugged them into my laptop and Bam! Clear, crisp (And Loud) sound. You wont drive a concert hall but I have AC powered speakers that dont sound this good.
The only problem is that they deliver a bit too much base and can bounce around the table if not adjusted correctly.

Wonderful speakers for a laptop Feb 07, 2007

I use these speakers for my Dell Latitude D600 and they are wonderful. The sound is very good for such small speakers, and it really improves the experience of watching a DVD or listening to itunes. You can change the volume with the buttons on the speaker, or with the sound volume button built into the D600. The power drain isn't too high. I was able to listen to music at a pretty high volume for a little over two hours before my laptop battery was about 70% discharged.
There is no software to install - just plug them in to a USB port and you are up and running (no separate power supply or batteries needed - they only need USB power). There are little braces in the back to tip them to the desired angle. There is also a nice little carrying case.
I agree with other reviewers that they can bounce around a little at high volume if on a hard surface, but its not that bad. Thats the only flaw I could find.

Very Good Speakers Dec 19, 2007
By Scrutinizing Consumer These speakers sound very good for their size. The physical design is superb. They are compact and come with a great hardshell carrying case that's a little smaller than a typical text book.
They sound very good up to about 80% power. After that, they start to distort a little.
These are perfect to use when ambient noise is not too loud and you want to power your sound via your computer's USB port.

Perfect laptop Speakers for Presentations Nov 16, 2007

A unique product that does what is was designed for very very well. Most laptops have horrible sound, no bass, easily distorted, and insufficient volume.
There are tons of portable speaker choices that require batteries or an AC power supply, but as someone who makes frequent sales and training presentations always worry if my batteries will die or if I will forget the adapter or can find an outlet close by. When setting up for a presentation I want everything to work with as little hassle as possible. Why worry about your speakers?
These work with no external power, and the bare minimum of wires for quick set up. The included case is very tough. The speakers are not tiny, but are very light weight.
The sound, Outstanding for voices, dialog, sound effects, pretty good for music too. Plenty of undistorted volume for a good size classroom or conference room. The controls for volume/mute/pause are right on the speakers so their is no hunting for keyboard shortcuts during your presentation. These are the perfect companion for folks who use portable projectors.
Highly recommended for those who have the need.

Excellent for what they're meant for Aug 18, 2006
By David & Grace Adelson I don't think i've ever been moved to write a product review before, but i love these things. They're the perfect addition to a laptop. No bothering with a transformer and a bunch of wires...you can plug in just one, if you're working with mono or both if you need stereo. Run off USB power. Plug it in and go. The carrying case is cool, they're light (and if you want really light, just take one), the sound is pretty good (though obviously this isn't audiophile stuff), and they can get loud. Decent bass for something this size and price range. You'll get some distortion if you drive them too hard, so don't. I use my laptop for a lot of digital audio editing, and i picked these up to help teach a class on editing, and i really needed a way that the class could hear what we're doing, and these fit the bill perfectly...be nice to have a tone or bass adjustment, but that's no big deal (you can use an equalizer on the cptr). Overall, a great product. One funny thing...if you have them loud, on the right surface, playing something with a lot of bass, they'll wander around like those clay-mation figures...set them on a magazine and you're fine...
