Great value kit, shame about the preloads Dec 14, 2008

Arrived and was set up and running in minutes, only real frustration was the amount of junk software options preloaded for trials, samples etc. Taken a few weeks to get rid of that (AOL, Norton, MS Office, Vaio care etc) and it would have been nice to have not had the problem.
Machine itself good looking, well built and easy to use and good value. Just get rid of the preloaded stuff.

Nice Desktop PC Dec 26, 2008
By J. Sears I have one wish for sellers of this product- provide some documentation on setup, especially internet setup. Zero documentation in the box...if you need help on setup, pay to have someone install because the vendor provides nothing otherwise.
ONCE I got it setup, the PC is an uncluttered dream. Quiet, fast and smooth running. We purchased this for a small biz and it runs Quickbooks, MS Office 07 and other apps much quicker than our last PC.
The speakers do not have the issues stated by another reviewer and the sound is great.
Overall, great value and quality.

Super fast, sleek, all in one, awesome computer Dec 22, 2008

My husband and I bought this desktop computer and absolutely love it. The screen is large and the entire PC is incorporated right into the monitor. The one thing we really love about this computer is the fact the webcam is mounted right into the monitor. It makes it perfect for communicating with anyone via the internet. The computer is extremely fast and very user friendly. Sony makes a great product. The one downfall to this product is its price. It seems a little over priced compared to the other systems made by different companies. However, overall I would choose this sony product over any other on the market.

Great Machine for 99% of general purpose use! Jan 15, 2009
By kbox My wife and mom both got this machine at the same time, and to replace the exact same Dell desktops they had at home. My mom unpacked it and had it running in no time, ready to for on line gaming etc....lol. My wife left all of that to me but she loves the look and operation of the system. Biggest challenge was to figure out how to transfer Outlook and 20k photos from her Dell. That took some time searching on line and trial and error but finally I found a thread on line indicating a special cable for transferring files from another machine(in this case running XP) to the Vaio. It took time to transfer but now my wife has all of her Outlook email dumped into her Windows Email along with 20k+ pics transfered. She's happy so I am happy!
Great specs for the $799 I paid(no tax to boot!). I do think a DVD drive that "pulled" the dvd in would have been better than having to carefully load the pop out tray but that's about all. It really is a GREAT value!

Sony VAIO VGC-JS110J/S 20 inch All in one Feb 21, 2009

This PC was purchased for an older gentleman and his wife. Not having a lot of available space was a factor for consideration hence the choice of an All-in-one.
Out of the box and set up was extremely user friendly. The quality and performance of the machine is first class. No extra attachments are necessary. Speakers and video camera is built into the monitor. This is a function that this couple finds useful, as they from time to time have online video conversations with their daughter in England with out the hassle of them having to know what to turn on or set up. It really is a nice and attractive looking machine. I would recommend it to persons who find the specs/capacity more than adequate for their need.
I have not really looked at the upgradeable nature of the system, so if you think that you might out grow what the system comes with, then you should check out its ability to be upgraded. For the most part is a nice compact high performance system.
